Mokuleia - Forest Garden

Here’s one of our classic forest garden starter packages. There’s a mix of native and perennial ground covers including pohinahina, perennial peanut and comfrey. Hardy perennial vegetables like sissoo and longevity spinach are fast growing food sources that help cover the soil. Papaya, banana, pigeon pea, and moringa play an edible support role for our climax species. Over 2-3 years they will phase out and the breadfruit, cacao, avocado, mulberry, and suriname cherry will become the established canopy. This was planted in October 2021 and has been pumping out papayas and mulberry since August 2022. The first banana rack is expected in October 2022.
